Complaint Against Pacman Jones Withdrawn

The woman who had filed a complaint accusing Pacman Jones of punching her at a strip club in Atlanta at 3 a.m. has withdrawn her complaint.  The woman told a reporter in Atlanta yesterday that she had received a lot of threats from what she called Pacman's entourage.

I hope that he didn't hit this woman.  That is the best development that could come out of this situation, but the fact remains that he was at a strip club at 3 a.m.  That tells me that he hasn't learned anything, and it is just a matter of time before another incident happens.

Bullshit
Bullshit Bullshit Bullshit.

I knew she was full of crap.

But this guy has got to learn that people are gonna target him!  Stay at home!  Build a strip club in the crib!

Go Titans!

As far as this
whole case is concerned the only thing that matters to me is that he was at a strip club at 3am, there is no denying that.

The best development that could come of this situation is that it is true, that he indeed hit her, so that he ends up in prison before he kills someone.

He hasn't learned a thing from his suspension and Goodell should ban him 4 ever.

Yeah, he's not the best guy in the world.
But from a pure football P.O.V. we gotta take him back.  We could really, really use his defensive and return skills.  Plus, maybe he can play some offense like he did a little bit his last season and catch some passes.

by nvemvp23 on Jan 16, 2008 4:50 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

We don't
gotta do anything.  Its time to move on.

What happens when he does something stupid again and we have planned and counted on having him do certain things for our team?  I will tell you, we end up with no one left to do his job, the same way we ended up this year.  We need to find a return man, plain and simple.  We will live without him at CB, we did this year.

Instead of worrying about him playing Offense, we should be worried about him or someone in his crew killin somebody while he is a part of this football team.  I don't know about you, but I can't stand that he is even associated with our team anymore.

Pacman is a legend
Listen, you can't just "move on" and "replace" Pacman.  He is a genuine artist on returns and you just can't pick someone out of a hat to do what he does.  So what if he frequents strip clubs, so did Van Gogh and Abraham Lincoln.  Well, maybe not Lincoln.  But still, I get so sick of this holier than thou attitude that so many people are exhibiting.  Albert Haynesworth nearly crushed a man's skull for heaven's sake!  It's a football team not choir practice.  More importantly, those of us who use the Titans when playing Madden need another weapon.

by pacmanISinnocent on Jan 16, 2008 6:07 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Can you tell
me how both Lincoln and Van Gogh's lives ended. And what strip club was Van Gogh attending? The Blue Oyster?

by Big Bad Bulluck on Jan 16, 2008 6:59 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

For me it isn't a holier than thou attitude....
....I couldn't care less if he goes to a strip club if he could stay out of trouble.  The point is that he can't control himself once he is there so the only smart thing to do would be stay away from them.

I'll tell
you what, Roger Goodell cares if hes in a strip club.  It would be smart for him to stay away from them cuz the commissioner of the NFL told him to or he's not gonna play.

I don't know how anyone could want this guy on their team.  He doesn't care about anyone but himself.   How you can see this any different?

And just for the record, I would be more than happy to have him on my team in madden.  But only in madden.  In madden I can cut or trade him whenever I want.

I found the perfect place to trade him.  My new favorite team and fans to hate.

weird one
There is still very conflicting information being published about this incident. Some sources are writing that the lady was an attorney working for the strip club owner, others that she was working for Pacman.

Doesn't matter much, though.  Worst case: he was in a strip club, he lost his temper and punched somebody.  No surprises there at all, other than perhaps he's moved up from spitting to punching as a modus operandi.

I will be stunned if the Titans have Adam on the roster next season.  From a purely football p.o.v. it would be huge to have him on the field again - but the pure football p.o.v. is imaginary land.  It doesn't exist except in Madden.  The reality for coaches and other players is they gotta deal with all the off-the-field and in-the-locker room stuff too, and in that category I think Pacman has proved he is a walking disaster.

Even in Madden,
team chemistry now matters :)

seriously?
That would be hilarious.  I haven't played in about three years.

I'm so on the fence...
about Pac... He is probably my favorite Titan (on field)... but when is it going to end. He obviously doesn't really care about the team or his career.... I would love to see him back though, he is instant energy, instant momentum. Vince got all the credit for the Giants comeback in 06 but it would never have happened with Pacman and the interceptions and return. I don't know what to think guys

Also I'm reading
on profootballtalk.com that the Titans have hired Hiemerdinger as their new/old OC.  Is this true?

by Big Bad Bulluck on Jan 16, 2008 10:55 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

tennessean article
is also reporting it as a deal that should be done by Thursday.  Given the very sudden way Norm was let go, I'm not surprised.  Probably Fisher already knew Dinger was interested coming back before Norm got the axe.

Also, Merril Hoge is laying into VY again.  I'm sure Jimmy will post this tomorrow - basically Hoge is saying VY is the problem and was a mistaken draft choice, and that the OC change is pointless.  I can't remember the last time a media person has so specifically targeted a single player for bashing over a long span of time like Hoge has VY.

by numbertenox on Jan 17, 2008 12:38 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

It is almost bizarre this thing with Hoge.
I mean, obviously Hoge is making some money bashing VY, but still... I mean it's a broken record.  It's solid obsession material right now.

I hope like Hell that Heimerdinger straightens things out.  I'm so tired of talking about this.

PACMAN SHOULD BE LOCKED AWAY FOR GOOD
Now that I have your attention... Naw I'm just kidding I want Pacman back I just said that cause I'm a little pissed at my friend (Pacmanisinnocent) for beating me in madden.  But seriously its no ones business what Pacman does on his free time all that matters is his performance on the field. The comish is being crazy about the "image of football", Its a violent contact sport of course you're going to get tough guys. Just think of how many games this year could have changed with just one more interception or a special teams touchdown. Our special teams really didn't look good this year... BRING PACMAN BACK!!!!

Tough Guys?
I'll bet you 1,000,000$ I'd kick his ass.  And don't you mean stupid guys?  And his performance on the field is not all that matters.  If that was the case he'd be on the field, Hello!  You wanna fight and act like an asshole or a tough guy, go do some UFC.     Oh thats right they wouldn't put him in the ring with a woman, so he wouldn't be up for that.

I asked before and I'll ask again.  What do we do when is gone again?   And we planned on him doing certain things for this team?  We end up in the same position we were in this season.  So why not move on?  Try to find someone that we can count on being there at least 10 games a season.

pacman got a raw deal here
i thought something was fishy from the start....

He may have
gotten a raw deal this time. But what about the other times?

by Big Bad Bulluck on Jan 17, 2008 4:18 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i am
iam a dentist that makes dentures so i cant be all that stupid,  maybe i can but the truth of the matter is its none of my bussiness what he does off the field.
i see your point that he will let us all down again at somepoint and we will be stuck with nobody at cornor but maybe he wont. i think everybody deserves a 2nd chance.  if he screws up in a big way again iam all for him being gone but we have to atleast try one last time and give him the opertunity.
look what happned somebody accues him  and he gets tons of bad press, plasterd all over the news and its a bogus claim but the damage is done.  think about it a laywer at a strip club at 3am? hell if laywers hang out at strip clubs why are we mad at pacman.   seems like some social club if laywers are hanging out there.  she was probally lying in wait for him to show up so he could bump into her and she could blow it up into he slugged her to get a settlement.  i just dont belive all i hear about him i want him back.

"Tough Guys?"
Unless your a professional athlete or fighter, I would definitely take that bet. The charges have been dropped and as long as Pacman isn't incarcerated there is no reason he shouldn't be allowed to play football.  If he isn't in jail its because the police think its ok for him to be walking the streets (and playing football).  As long as he is a free man he should be a Titan and we shouldn't care what he does on his spare time.  If the commissioner  feels the need too suspend people who have done nothing wrong on the football field there's nothing we can do about it but we don't have to agree with it.  Anyways I say bring him back and hire some counselors to work with him so that he can figure out a way to stay out of trouble. As far as I'm concerned, Roger Goodell is not more qualified to be a policeman than THE POLICE!

I do know one thing 100% certain
At 120 pounds and years of working at a desk, Pacman with a flu, his hands tied behind his back, and a blind-fold on, would still kick my ass.

I'll root for Pac if they bring him back, but dollars to donuts he's not back next season.  I think Fisher has enough to worry about right now, and I think he's all done on Pacman.  I could be wrong, but if I was a bettin' man I'd take Pacman to kick my ass and Pacman to not be in Titan's blue next season.
