Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Titans Sign Nick Harper

As mentioned in this diary, the Titans have agreed to a 3 year deal with CB Nick Harper.  The money from the deal was not released.

I like the move.  Harper adds depth to the secondary.  While he isn't Nate Clements, he is a veteran who has a Super Bowl ring.  Another advantage we have talked about here is that he has played against Peyton Manning in practice for the last 6 seasons.  The Titans mentioned last year that having David Thornton on the defense helped because of his knowledge of the Colts offense.  Any move that makes the Titans stronger and the Colts weaker is a great move.

Yeah Baby !!
I like Nick Harper and look forward to LOVING HIM!

I will sleep better tonight, LOL

Dude's got a Super Bowl ring and he has a key-eye for the ball .. he can convert to one-on-one vs. zone coverage, no problem.

Welcome Nick!!

and "right at the right ime" when Fox 17 just said Pac's trial in GA has been moved to May ..

hoorah!

If I remember correctly...
Wasn't Harper the one who was stabbed by his wife before the Steelers playoff game 2 seasons ago?  He then picked up the Bettis fumble and was tackled by Roethlisberger or else he would have probably won the game for the colts.  He definitely proved his toughness (if that was him), hopefully he will be a big help in the secondary (and everything is patched up with his wife...no pun intended).

Some holes are starting to get filled by the Titans, keep on going!!!

I love this
signing too!!! Very excited to see Harper and Pacman together... well hopefully. Is this move of the trial to May a good thing or a bad thing... i would like to know sooner than later what the titan's/nfl's plans are for pac and what kind of punishment they are going to throw at him. The signing of Harper will definitely get through tomorrow at least....lol...

I like
Harper too.  I honestly didn't realize how old he was.  32 years old.  Kind of surprising since we have targeted younger Vet's lately.

Hopefully Pacman will be playing next year and staying out of trouble.  With Pac, Harper, Finnegan and probably a 3rd round pick we should be doing pretty good in the secondary.

If we pick up Kevin Curtis then it's all but done that we will take a DE in the 1st round

Nick's been in the league ..

7 yrs and media mistakenly reported 5 .. not to worry as long as his nutty wife doesn't stab him again in the thigh ..

I think we...
still go WR in the first round. Even if we end up signing Curtis, We still wouldn't have a legitimate #1 receiver... i would like our collective group with Givens healthy and Brandon Jones coming on strong i think he is a solid #2 himself but still no number one. Anybody agree?

Brandon is ..

a good receiver .. I hated it he got injured right when he was making tremendous progress .. if he can stay healthy, he and Vince are at the beginning of a solid parnership ..

I agree
for the most part. Although I wouldn't mind having C.Houston. Givens health is the key. Curtis, Givens, and Jones is a very solid receiving group. But I don't think Givens will be ready. I think Houston would be the best pick for us, he reminds me of Pacman as far as skills. I guess I'm back and forth, I think we could get a good DE in the 2nd rd. and RB in the 3rd. I want Meachem, (I think).  Wow I don't know what I want us to pick.

Meachum
Tennessee Knoxville's pro-day is March 21st unless it's re-scheduled.

I wonder why LSU had theirs so early? I believe they made a mistake for the rest of their talent (esp. Bowe) by doing that ..

don't forget about Bowe ie. good hands, tough who's big, strong, easy target ..

it is a tough call on the best WR receiver and I think they ought to allow Vince to pick who he thinks is his best fit ..

and don't we all agree we can throw the wonderlic "out the window" .. geesh..

you go VY ...  ;-)my field commander  :-)

don't count on "Adam"

even if he was a bystander on the other 8 incidents, the Georgia police aren't willing to "make nice" after he bit one of them and police officers don't take obstruction of justice very lightly ..
