NUTS AND BOLTS

Date: December 2nd, 2007
Time: 12:00 p.m. Central
Location: LP Field, Nashville, TN
Records: Titans (6-5) Texans (5-6)
Weather: 60 degrees, 50% chance of showers, wind SSW 16 mph
TV: CBS
Radio: 103.3 WKDF
Texans Coverage: Battle Red Blog and The Houston Chronicle

This is basically a must win game for our Titans.  It appears that it will be raining for most of the game which should bode well for the Titans because they have the better rushing game.

Today is my wife's birthday, so we will be having lunch at the in-laws after church.  Hopefully I will get to check in during the 2nd half.  If someone could post the inactives here when they are listed I would really appreciate it.  Get the game discussion going here.  Let's get a win.

GO TITANS!!

We all need to be colts fans today.....
2 reasons why:
  1. The obvious, trying to catch Jax in the wild card race.  I don't think that will happen, but there is a chance.
  2. We need the Colts to have everything wrapped up by the time the Titans and Colts take the field in week 17.  That will allow the Colts to rest some regulars, and it will give the Titans a better chance.
I'm hoping for a better day today!

Agreed
A Colts loss would make it a lot harder on us down the stretch

I, for one, am hoping the Colts have nothing to play for on week 17.

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 11:44 AM CST reply actions

i bet it holds up
they should of whistled it dead, but they didn't

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 12:11 PM CST reply actions

looks like
he stretched the ball acrossed. Forward progress was stopped though

by Big Bad Bulluck on Dec 2, 2007 12:11 PM CST reply actions

is big Al
playing? i know he is in the line up but defense looks like same defense without him

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:18 PM CST reply actions

gage
what a pleasant surprise...

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 12:20 PM CST reply actions

our team would be exiting to watch
when we get some decent WRs and young improve throwing a little in near future
(might not please fisher but w.e)

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:23 PM CST reply actions

didn't we draft a OL
can't remember correctly was it Harris or someone not really sure which position he is tho

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:25 PM CST up reply actions

it seems that roydell always
turns the wrong way... we need some better communication

by nvemvp23 on Dec 2, 2007 12:26 PM CST reply actions

Ok Scaife
You get a one-year break on my "fire all the 80's" mandate. =)

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 12:27 PM CST reply actions

WTG White
He must be hungry.

Pun intended.  =)

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 12:28 PM CST reply actions

maybe we should hire
zoo keeper instead of trainer for him
zoo keepers are good at making animals do certain things for food

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:30 PM CST up reply actions

ahmad hall..
may have been the difference in our running game

by b3tts32 on Dec 2, 2007 12:30 PM CST reply actions

I think
we really missed Hall. And now we are missing B.Olsen a bit.

by Big Bad Bulluck on Dec 2, 2007 12:31 PM CST up reply actions

only if our D can get back to how it was before
our Offense is much improved from beginning of the season (even with all the drops and interceptions)

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:35 PM CST reply actions

quick question
who is rotating with Odom ?

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:37 PM CST reply actions

With
La boy out the rotation is all messed up

by white02slpss on Dec 2, 2007 7:33 PM CST up reply actions

Do we
really want Rosenfels at QB, though?

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 12:38 PM CST reply actions

Nice
Field position, and bring on the rain!

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 12:39 PM CST reply actions

I hope
Vince runs more next series

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 12:43 PM CST reply actions

Hey guys..
how about an update? who scored? Just signed on the radio.
Go Titans!

by Pinoy Titan on Dec 2, 2007 12:45 PM CST reply actions

Whew
dodged a bullet that time

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 12:48 PM CST reply actions

sup with Hentrich
punting only 30yards these days

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:53 PM CST reply actions

hentrich...
i have always been a fan, but as I posted earlier this week, there are too many guys with big legs out there now.  I hope he retires at the end of the season...

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 12:54 PM CST reply actions

maybe we can sign the guy
who played when Hentrich was injured

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 12:55 PM CST up reply actions

i've been saying this since the beginning of the
year.

There are plenty of people who can punt 45-50 yards consistently, we need to find one.

by nvemvp23 on Dec 2, 2007 12:58 PM CST up reply actions

He
was putting into a 14 plus MPH wind!  makes a huge difference

by white02slpss on Dec 2, 2007 7:33 PM CST up reply actions

Once Again
The sound you hear is Big Al's price tag going up.

We're just totally different with him in the game.

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 1:04 PM CST reply actions

i say F.Tag him
let see if he can repeat this for another year
if he does than we can sign him a long term deal

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 1:05 PM CST up reply actions

franchise tag..
can you franchise the same player year after year?

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 1:09 PM CST reply actions

i'm not sure about how many times you
can F.T the player but i think when F.T same player you have to give him 25% raise

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 1:13 PM CST up reply actions

yeah no Hentrich
punts 50 yards to end zone how nice

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 1:13 PM CST reply actions

franchise tag you gotta make him the
average salary of the top 5 paid players of that position i think.

by nvemvp23 on Dec 2, 2007 1:19 PM CST reply actions

that's right...
i just didn't know how often you could do it to the same player

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 1:23 PM CST up reply actions

I believe
you can do it more than 1nce.

by Big Bad Bulluck on Dec 2, 2007 1:35 PM CST up reply actions

if you can watch the game online...
please email me how..  ecdean27@yahoo.com

it's raining here and the satellite is in and out...

please forward that to me as well...
i have directtv but i am just curious.

Thanks

by nvemvp23 on Dec 2, 2007 1:53 PM CST reply actions

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
I think Roydell is good enough to be this teams #2 guy for a while..
And Gage could be great in the slot..
This team just needs to somehow find a #1 and this offense will be a much better thing.

by CoryC123 on Dec 2, 2007 1:58 PM CST reply actions

yeah
Gage was a great signing he should be our #2 or slot
still not sure about Roydell i mean he makes great catches sometimes but other times he is invisible
B.Jones have to learn how to catch the ball or he shouldn't be in NFL
Still need at least 2 good WRs

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 2:03 PM CST up reply actions

Color me
unsuprised, they threw at Hill.

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 2:03 PM CST reply actions

is Herndon that bad ?
i thought he used to start in SEA..
if he is worse than Hill might as well release him and give roster spot to someone else

didn't gage have like
4 catches last season with Bears?
i guess Grossman just sucks

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 2:16 PM CST reply actions

Gage
I think we need to start to work on re-signing him now.  We don't want another WR get away.

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 2:17 PM CST reply actions

Did anyone
Else Notice what WR's got the Start?  R. Williams and J. Gage

by white02slpss on Dec 2, 2007 7:35 PM CST up reply actions

It just came to me
Vince is looking like ... Kerry Collins!

Oops, sorry. Was channeling JoyKat there.

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 2:17 PM CST reply actions

i would like to see..
our pass rushers put their hands up more to knock down passes.  that's something we don't do well at all....

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 2:20 PM CST reply actions

here we go again
our D -> resenfels = Elway

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 2:25 PM CST reply actions

the offense..
needs to stay aggressive now, don't get vanilla!

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 2:26 PM CST reply actions

WHYYYYYY???
Please, someone let the Titan's know that they're playing against Sage ROSENFELS!

by CoryC123 on Dec 2, 2007 2:26 PM CST reply actions

unfortunately not..
if white is healthy, he'll be the starter.  i don't know why.  brown has always been good when healthy.

by gotitans27 on Dec 2, 2007 2:38 PM CST up reply actions

Chris Brown has always been good enough to start..
It's just a matter of health, and he hasn't shown that he can keep his for any consistent amount of time.

by CoryC123 on Dec 2, 2007 2:39 PM CST up reply actions

That was
his inexperience showing.

I'd like to see one more solid series from us.

There we go!
San Diego is a must win game next week, but if we get past them I don't see any reason why we don't have a great chance to make the playoffs.

by CoryC123 on Dec 2, 2007 3:04 PM CST reply actions

...to have as a MUST win.

All our games
are must win, I think.

Jax isn't going to lay down any time soon.

Go Cards!

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 3:09 PM CST reply actions

Trivia
The Cardinals are the oldest team in Pro Football, and the only charter member of the NFL that still has their original name.

by Rustmeister on Dec 2, 2007 3:12 PM CST reply actions

Poor choice by Fisher.
A FG would have put us up by 2 scores..
That at least gave Elway a chance.

by CoryC123 on Dec 2, 2007 3:12 PM CST reply actions

No.
It was a smart call to take the punt because Bironas missed a similar field goal from that same side.  If he missed they would have started at the 40 yard line.

Plus punts waste a good amount of time.

Good call by Fisher

by nvemvp23 on Dec 2, 2007 3:19 PM CST up reply actions

Good game.
Great win.  Probably the best the team has looked this season, and it was practically raining sideways.

Go Titans!  Next up, San Diego.

Question: Who has the edge if we end up with a
tie against the Browns.

Who has the tiebreaker?

by nvemvp23 on Dec 2, 2007 3:35 PM CST reply actions

As of right now I think we do.
At least that's the way it was when we were tied a couple of weeks ago.

by CoryC123 on Dec 2, 2007 3:36 PM CST up reply actions

Actually, I think it's...
...the Browns.  They have more wins in the AFC.
DannoE

Go read FRIDAY MAD SCIENCE at www.paperbackreader.com
Thanks!

by DannoE on Dec 2, 2007 3:39 PM CST up reply actions

i thought it depends on
intra conference record
right now we are at 4-4
Browns 5-4 (today's game doesn't matter but they have to lose so it goes into tie-break procedure)
so Browns are a head

we played all 4 games against NFC already
and Browns still have to face 49ners
so it really depends which game Browns lose

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 3:42 PM CST up reply actions

so if we go 3-1 for rest of our season
as we predicted we would be 7-5 (AFC games)
and if browns go 3-1 too but if lose comes from SF than they go 8-4 (AFC games) Browns would go to playoff

if Browns go 3-1 and lose to other team than SF than i think we go for point difference (not really sure about this one)

by LastSd on Dec 2, 2007 3:45 PM CST up reply actions

Cards won!
Browns got robbed, but who cares!
