Tennessee Titans 26 Kansas City Chiefs 17

That was a very interesting game.  It was good in the beginning with the Titans marching 60 yards on 10 plays for a touchdown, terrible in the middle, and good at the end.  Vince Young had a really good day throwing for 191 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions.  He also ran for 32 yards.

Unfortunately the Titans did not get the playoff help they needed this weekend.  The Cleveland Browns beat the Buffalo Bills 8-0, and the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-22.  Now the Browns have to lose to the Cincinnati Bengals next weekend for the Titans to have a shot.

Let's not dwell on that for now though.  The Titans got the first win in their 3 must win game stretch.  Full recap tomorrow.

wait a second...
wouldn't we make the playoffs if any of the following happen and we win out?:
Pittsburgh loses out or
Cleveland loses out or
Jacksonville loses out.
I'm not sure about the last one because I don't exactly know about the tie-breaker scenario, but am I correct? isn't that what needs to happen?

Yeah
I was just thinking easiest case scenario.  I don't think Pittsburgh or Jacksonville will lose out.

or does pittsburg only have to lose one more?
what's the tiebreaker scenario between us and them?

by kpocyclo on Dec 16, 2007 3:35 PM CST   0 recs

i think pittsburgh might only have to lose 1
if the browns win out, this way they don't get the division

Titans are 8-6.
Steelers are 9-5.
Browns are 9-5.
Jags are 10-4.

As it stands now, the Steelers have the tie-breaker over the Browns.  However, if they lose another game, then they could fall precipitously.

I'll be pretty happy
If they have a winning season!  If they have another 8-8 season I'll have to listen to the morning show guy on 560 sports radio continue to belabor the point about how few winning seasons the Titans have had (in his book 8-8 = losing season, and who's to argue?).

That said, last year the Titans got the help they needed from other teams to make the playoffs but couldn't win their own game over the Patriots.  It would be a pretty cruel twist of fate if this year they do take car of their own games but fail to get the help they need.  10-6 and sitting home watching the playoffs is pretty rude.

At least
we didn't lose to a quarterback from Al-A-Bama!
Go Titans!

Regardless
We've already done better than all the pre-season pundits predicted we'd do.

I don't think the Jags will crumble like they've done in the past, but Cleveland's another matter, as is Pittsburgh.

Cleveland's in unfamiliar territory, and the Steelers just don't seem to have the spark they used to.

Besides, Cleveland took the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame that belongs in Memphis, and that's just wrong. =)
