Ricky Williams In, Dwight Freeney Out and NFL Power Rankings

Before we go through the power rankings, a couple of NFL notes. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to reinstate Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams. Williams was serving a a suspension for his 432nd positive marijuana test. The over under for his next suspension is week 14.
Indianapolis Colts' defensive end Dwight Freeney is out for the season with a foot injury. This is a huge blow to the reigning Super Bowl Champions. I guess that is why they claimed Simeon Rice off waivers earlier this week.
Now for the power rankings.
Vince Young has thrown one TD pass since the Titans' bye in Week 4. But he did show signs of life Sunday, throwing for a career-high 257 yards. Still, the offense has scored just 13 points or less in five of nine games.
A few months after combining for a franchise-record 282 yards on the ground against the Jaguars in Week 1, the Titans held to just 62 yards rushing in Sunday's 28-13 loss in Nashville. The Titans struggled to contain Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor, as both Albert Haynesworth and Travis LaBoy sat the game out with injuries. The Titans had seven sacks against Carolina in Week 9; they managed to record only one in Week 10. They'll need a healthy Haynesworth and LaBoy down the stretch.
Playing without Albert Haynesworth, Tennessee couldn't contain Jacksonville's running game. The loss dropped the Titans into a second place tie with Jacksonville in the AFC South, but certainly not out of wild card contention.
Needed that week 10 win to have the upper hand over Jacksonville (who they beat in week one) and to gain ground on division-leader Indianapolis. Speaking of regression...Vince Young?
Until Vince Young can throw it better, they have issues on offense. Now they face back-to-back roadies, starting in Denver. That's tough.
After quietly racking up half a dozen wins and giving the Colts something to think about, Titans stumble against Jags. Doesn't get easier this week against what could be a resurgent Broncos team on the road.
When injured Albert Haynesworth is away, rushing attacks will play.
No commentary.
Ya know, road trips to Denver and Cincinnati aren't gimmies, and there are still games against San Diego and Indy ... it's mean, but we'd love for these guys to miss the playoffs.
That is an average of 8. I thought it was going to be a lot worse than that.

The Big Lead Is Like Everyone Else
The difference between Titans fans and the rest of the NFL fans is that we know that Vince has the potential to eviscerate opponents singlehandedly, and we know this offense is better than what the numbers say. I'm not making excuses, but had Albert been healthy I think we win that Jax game. But most people don't see this part, so I don't blame them for not believing in the Titans.
No one believed in us in all the years we went to playoffs either, I'm not waiting for them to start now.
