New York, NY (Sports Network) - Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown, San Diego Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie and Jacksonville kicker Josh Scobee have been selected as the AFC's top players for Week 3 of the NFL season.
Brown had a career day to earn the offensive award for the first time in Miami's stunning 38-13 victory over the New England Patriots. He ran for 113 yards on just 17 carries with four touchdowns and threw for another score. The four rushing touchdowns set a Dolphins record, and he became the first Dolphin to win the offensive weekly award since Ricky Williams in 2002.
Cromartie posted a career-high nine tackles and picked off a pair of passes in San Diego's 49-28 victory over the New York Jets on Monday to notch the defensive honor for the third time in his career. He returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown.
Scobee kicked the Jaguars to a 23-21 victory at Indianapolis to capture the special teams award for the fifth time in his career. He connected on all three of his field goal attempts, including a 51-yard kick with four seconds remaining to give Jacksonville its first win of the season.
