Sports Network | September 14, 2008

Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Darren McFadden rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and Sebastian Janikowski booted a franchise-record 56-yard field goal, as Oakland shut down Kansas City, 23-8, in a Week 2 matchup from Arrowhead Stadium.

JaMarcus Russell completed only 6-of-17 passes for 55 yards for the Raiders (1-1), who won the game amidst a report that Raiders owner Al Davis is ready to fire head coach Lane Kiffin, as early as Monday.

Michael Bush picked up 90 yards on 16 carries and his first career touchdown and Justin Fargas gained 43 yards on nine rushes for Oakland before leaving the contest in the second quarter with a groin injury.

Tyler Thigpen was subpar in defeat, going 14-of-33 for 151 yards, one touchdown and an interception for the Chiefs (0-2), who have dropped 11 consecutive games. Kansas City dropped nine in a row to end last season, and have not won since a 12-10 triumph at Oakland on October 21, 2007.

Damon Huard started the game but completed two passes for 17 yards before leaving with a head injury after the first quarter. Dwayne Bowe caught six balls for 90 yards and Tony Gonzalez added a TD catch.
