Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins placed offensive guard Donald Thomas on injured reserve with a foot injury and waived fullback Boomer Grigsby Tuesday.
To take their spots on the 53-man roster, Miami signed fullback Casey Cramer and guard Evan Mathis.
Thomas, a 2008 sixth-round draft pick from Connecticut, had been wearing a protective boot on the foot at practice Monday but had expected to practice Wednesday.
Grigsby was a fifth-round pick in 2005 out of Illinois State, appearing for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2005-2007 before signing with the Dolphins before this season.
Mathis was cut by the Carolina Panthers before the season after starting 15 games in three seasons. He was a third-round pick in 2005 out of Alabama.
Cramer, 26, has played 27 games for the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans over four seasons, primarily on special teams.
