Super Bowl XLVI Game Time, Channel and a Question
So Super Bowl XLVI kicks off tonight at 5:29 central time on NBC. It is a good year when NBC has the Super Bowl because they do a great job with everything surrounding the game. I will not be watching much, if any, of the 14 hour pregame show, but I am more likely to watch it on NBC than any other network. Their pregame guys don't spend the whole show laughing. That is a bonus.
My question for you here is do you prefer to watch the Super Bowl at a party or more low key? For me, I enjoy going to some type of reasonable Super Bowl Party for a game like this one- when I don't really care who wins. I cannot go to big gatherings for Titans' games. I want to really watch those games, and it is impossible to really do that when there are more than about 4 people in the room.
When the Titans were in the Super Bowl, I ended up at a party with about 50 people. That was a terrible mistake, and by about 5 minutes into the game I ended up in a room with 4 or 5 people gathered around the smallest TV in the house so I could watch the game.
Anyway, let me know where you will be watching tonight's game.
What Does MCM Want?
There are approximately three and a half months between today, Sunday January 29th, and the start of 2012 OTAs. As you all know, MCM doesn't end with the Titans' season, this is an around-the-clock operation. Now while we're definitely going to dish about the draft and the current state of things here with the team, I know for a fact that there are a good number of commenters and lurkers (yes, lurkers, we love you too) who have good ideas for posts. I know this because I've already received a good idea via email from one of the regulars, so what I'm offering here is a space for you to strut your stuff and show off those good ideas of yours.
Titans vs. Saints Game Thread Roll Call
MCM Sunday Night Discussion: How Would You Cover the Cortland Finnegan Story?
It seems that in the past couple of year the Tennessee Titans have had a large number of story lines that divide the fanbase. I am not sure if there really are more with this franchise than any other, or if it just feels that way because I run this site, but it seems like we can't go more than a couple of months (even weeks sometimes) without a story that has people here arguing with each other.
That leads me to a question; If you were in charge of this site, how would you have covered yesterday's events surrounding Cortland Finnegan. I am interested in your answers.
Will it change the way I operate? Honestly, probably not. I run this site as a fan of the Titans. I am fans of individual players on the team, sure, but what I want more than anything else is for the Titans to win. Do I bring biases to the way I write about things? Sure, we all do, but I don't think anyone who has been here for any length of time thinks that I want anything other than for this team to win a Super Bowl.
MCM Saturday Night Discussion: A World Without Football
I really do think they will get this CBA worked out this week, but I also thought that last week. Let's pretend for a few minutes like this thing is going to extend into October. What will you do with all of the free time you have on Sundays?
I always think it is funny when people are worried about what they will do on Sundays if there isn't football because, even with a full football season, you really only have 21 Sundays that have football. That is less than half of the year, but the fact remains that you would know it was a Sunday with no football. So what would you do?
I don't think we will have any trouble at our house figuring out what to do. We will be welcoming our second child, another boy, into the world before the season is scheduled to start. Our hands will be full.
NFL CBA: Who Do You Blame That A Deal Isn't Done?
I posed this question back in March and 43% of the people who voted blamed both sides for the lockout. So now, 4 months later, I pose the same question.
POLL: How Many Games Will the Titans Win in 2011?
It is ridiculous to post this poll today because we don't even know who the QB is going to be, but gramsey told me today that he thinks the Titans will only win 2-3 games in 2011, and I think that is ridiculous.
