MCM Fantasy Football Update

Sorry I have been so slow to get this out there, but there has been a lot going on behind the scenes to get our fantasy football league together.  The "official" league drawing has been done.  I sent emails this afternoon to the ones who were selected in the drawing.  Please take the time this weekend to get signed up for the league.  If all the spots are not filled by Tuesday I will fill them from people who respond to this thread.

If you did not get an email from me and are still interested in playing in a MCM league, please respond in this thread.  I will set up as many leagues as we need to fill the demand.  The draft for the 1st league is Monday the 25th.  The other ones will be planned accordingly.  We will get keep a running total for all of the leagues on this site during the season.  If you have any questions let me know.

MCM Fantasy Football

It is time to open the 2008 fantasy football league.  This year we will be playing on Flea Flicker which is a site owned by AOL.  Our blog network, SB Nation, has partnered with AOL Fanhouse to to create the SB Nation The Fanhouse Leagues.

Here is how it will work:

Click this link to be taken to the page.  Click on the MCM logo and then sign up to be entered into the drawing.  The Flea Flicker administrators will then conduct a drawing and will randomly enter people into the league.  That drawing should take place later this week.  Do not fear if you do not get selected for this league because there will be others that will be set up.  Let me know in the comments that you have entered yourself into the drawing.  Good luck!!

Yahoo Fantasy Juggernaut Index: #31 Your Tennessee Titans

Yahoo is running down the 32 NFL teams and ranking them in order of fantasy relevance.  They have the Titans at #31 just ahead of the Chicago Bears.  The article says the only Titan worth owning in an 8 or 10 team mixed league is Rob Bironas.

It is hard to argue with their logic.  A lot of us will be playing in a fantasy league together, so I am hesitant to give away too many of my secrets, but I am thinking that Alge Crumpler will finish in the top 5 fantasy tight ends.  The article points out the Titans poor performance in the red zone last season, just 22 TDs in 50 possesions, and that is exactly where Crumpler will thrive this season.

So what about you?  Which Titans do you think will out you over the top in our MCM fantasy league?

*Site note: The info has not been emailed for fantasy football just yet.  Our blog network, SB Nation, is partering with AOL to promote their fantasy football leagues.  As soon as I have all the details on that I will pass them along.

Because It's Never Too Early For Fantasy Football

I realize that it is only June 12th, but Yahoo has their fantasy football leagues open, and I just had to start a league.  Thus I bring you the opportunity to play in this year's MCM fantasy football league.  We will have a live draft scheduled for August 25th at 9 p.m. central time.  I am thinking that the league will consist of 12 teams, but if there is a lot of interest we may just have a bigger league.  I have always wanted to play in a huge league where you have to draft guys you have never heard of.

It is a head-to-head league and the settings are as follows:

Roster Spots

2 QBs

3 WRs

2 RBs

1 TE

1 WR/RB

1 K

1 DEF

6 Bench Spots

Scoring

QBs- 25 passing yards per point, 6 points per TD, -2 per INT

RBs- 10 rushing yards per point, 6 points per TD, -2 fumble lost

WRs- .25 points per reception, 10 receiving yards per point, 6 points per TD, -2 fumble lost

K- 3 points per field goal to 30 yards, 4 points 40-49, 5 points 50+

DEF- 1 point per sack, 2 points per safety, INT, fumble recovery, block kick, 6 points per TD, Points Allowed 0 points (10), Points Allowed 1-6 points (7), Points Allowed 7-13 points (4), Points Allowed 14-20 points (1), Points Allowed 21-27 points (0), Points Allowed 28-34 points (-1), Points Allowed 35+ points (-4)

There you have it.  If you want in let me know in the comments.  Make sure the email address that you signed up for the site is active.
