DB's 2 Round Mock with Titans rounds 3-7

My goal was to have a four round mock posted before the combine....but here it is day 3 and working on the last two rounds today is pointless because everything will change after the combine. That being said, 99% of this mock was done before the combine, so keep that in mind.

Here is my full two round mock and my Titans 3rd-7th round picks at the end.

My draft only includes one trade...the Rams because it is such a given. My draft only presumes two FA signing; Peyton Manning to the Dolphins and Matt Flynn to the Redskins.

Let me know what you think...and if you've kept up with the combine who you think is rising or falling so far.

Dear Ron: Mailtime with Ron Burgundy

It's Friday, Combine time, and the annual MCM mock draft is upon us! Let's dive into another weekly edition of the mailbag. Remember, you can now send whatever the hell you want to the mailbag (within reason of course, I don't want viruses being sent) and it could be answered right here. In addition to Titans/NFL/MCM stuff, you can ask do swallows migrate? What's up with the ending of Inception? Why did NBC wait so long to give us Community back?

Is VY finally done?

It appears that Philly just hired Vunce's replacement? Wonder what happens to him now? If Trent Edwards is your replacement as a back up, is your career finally over? Is it time to hang it up?

Surely not, some one will bring him in some where right?

What about Fishtache letting him back up in St. Louis. HA HA HA HA

Maybe Bud just hires Vince to just hang around him and throw up the longhorns from time to time.

The Titans are now on the clock. Well we all know what happen to the Titans this year. Kenny Britt started the season on FIRE! and then he kinda got hurt and then it was sad day in Titanland. We got to see flashes of the talent that is Jake Locker and I CANT WAIT FOR 2012 season. Munchak said they weren't planning on drafting an OL in the first round but that could all change if someone wows them at the Combine.

Titans Rankings

Offense: 17th
Pass: 12th
Rush: 31st
Points: 20.3 -T-21st

Defense: T-18th
Pass: 14th
Rush: 24th
Points: 19.8 -8th

Team Needs: OLB, WR, DE, OG, C, S, CB

Possible Free Agents: Ahmard Hall, Donnie Avery, Kevin Curtis, Jake Scott, Ken Amato, Fernando Velasco -R, Jason Jones, Dave Ball, William Hayes, Tony Brown, Malcolm Sheppard -ER, Patrick Bailey, Barrett Ruud, Tim Shaw, Cortland Finnegan, Michael Griffin, Jordan Babineaux, Chris Hope, Anthony Smith

Jake Locker and the "VY effect"

We all know what CJ was able to do when Vince Young was here. I think he may have had a 2,000 yards season or something like that. CJ2k may have not been 2k without... you guessed it VY. Vince did have his flaws, but he was just the complement that Chris Johnson needed. A guy that took that extra defender out of the box, which gave him more running room for the big home runs we loved so much.

It would be rude to blame Vince when he went 30-17 during his tenure with the Titans. Other things were not working for the team, but enough of the past and onto the future. If you did not know, the Titans drafted a guy by the name of Jake Locker 8th Overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Locker had some playing time last season playing in 5 games. He passed for 542 yard and 4 TD's with no INT's, but he will need to improve his 51.1 completion percentage. His 99.4 Quarterback rating was impressive and, the return of a healthy Kenny Britt would bold well for him and the passing game. Jake Locker brought back signs of Steve McNair with this touchdown run agianst the saints. This was something that this team has been missing for a while now.

As we all know Jake Locker is a mobile Quarterback and is very good at throwing on the run, as well as in the pocket. Even though he only ran the ball 8 times for 56 yards, I would say that with Jake in the driver seat, CJ would return to his old form. Locker would demand the defense to keep one less body away from the running lanes.

Chris Johnson has 1,187 carries 5,645 yards and 38 Touchdowns for his career. He averages 297 carries 1,411 yards and 9.5 Touchdowns per year.

With that said, take out the 2009 season and he averages 276 carries 1,213 yards and 8 Touchdowns. So now we know how much Vince really meant to CJ and the team.

Let's hope the Titans recognize how much Locker's dual threat ability is need for CJ to be successful.

The Bears are now on the clock. The Bears became the NFC version of the Colts when Cutler went down with a broken thumb (on the throwing hand). The Bears D kinda has gotten old this year, they have 5 DB are set to be FA, but a couple of them will probably be back. They could target some high profile CB that would play the Bears kinda D, being scrappy and aggressive. I wouldn't mind seeing our boy Finney in a Bears uni. Bears priority for the offseason is to get Forte signed to a long term deal, he injuryed his MCL late in the season and that really spelled the end for the Bears but their back-up Kahill Bell showed good stuff during the time he got.

Bears Rankings

Offense: 24th
Pass: 26th
Rush: 9th
Points: 22.1 - 17th

Defense: 17th
Pass: 28th
Rush: 5th
Points: 21.3 -14th

Team Needs: OLB, OG, WR, CB, QB- Back-up

Possible Free Agents: Caleb Hanie, Josh McCown, Matt Forte, Kahlil Bell -R, Roy Williams, Kellen Davis, Edwin Williams -ER, Israel Idonije, Amobi Okoye, Zackary Bowman, Corey Graham, Tim Jennings, Brandon Meriweather

Voting will end @ 11:59pm CST on Feb 23th or in the event of a land slide.

How would signing Mario Williams impact our draft?

I was just perusing Mocking the Draft and came across this mock draft with Free Agency included.

The article came from Jagsrok9008

He had a very interesting draft and FA for the Titans, which included signing Mario Williams.

Getting Mario in FA would definitely change our strategy. Jagsrok also suggested another couple off-season moves that would impact how we would approach the draft.

See what else he predicted for the Titans after the jump.

7-Round Titans Mock Draft, The "Mario Williams Signs WIth The TItans" Scenario

I used the mock draft simulator at drafttek.com and picked for the Titans. I did so under the safe assumption that the Titans will nab Mario Williams in free agency, re-sign Danger Dave Ball, and let both Griffin and Finnegan walk...
