The Titans are currently projected to have just over $70 million in cap space according to Over The Cap. That, of course, doesn’t include any of the 13 players that are currently not under contract for the 2017 season.
Here are the 13 players with no contract for 2017:
QB Matt Cassel
WR Kendall Wright
TE Anthony Fasano
G Chance Warmack
G/T Byron Bell
G/C Brian Schwenke
DL Karl Klug
LB Sean Spence
LB David Bass
LB Nate Palmer
CB Valentino Blake
S Rashad Johnson
S Daimion Stafford
Obviously there are no guys on that list that are going to break the bank, but quite a few of them are pretty important role players.
We can already count on former first-round picks Wright and Warmack being gone. Both guys have had issues with the current administration.
I would suspect they make an effort to retain Cassel and Klug depending on the rehab from his injury. Cassel stepped in and did exactly what they signed him to do in week 17. He is a Robinson guy.
They probably need to sign either or Bell or Schwenke just for number purposes. I would prefer Bell of the two.
Stafford is the only other guy on the list that I am really interested in seeing back with the team in 2017.
