Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network has released his first mock draft of the 2017 NFL Draft season. He has the Titans going with a conventional pick at #5 but off the board at #18. We will get to that pick in just a minute.
First we look at Jeremiah’s pick at #5 for the Titans. He went with Marcus Lattimore, CB, Ohio State:
The Titans could add Corey Davis -- the draft's best receiver -- in this spot, but Lattimore is a special talent and fills a need on the roster. He has incredible cover skills and will match up well with the elite wideouts in the AFC South.
The more I read and think about Lattimore, the more I believe that he will end up being the pick for the Titans at #5. Like Jeremiah said, he is an elite talent at a position of need. This corner class is deep, but Lattimore seems to profile pretty far ahead of the rest of the group.
Now we get to the crazy portion of this post. Jeremiah has the Titans taking David Njoku, TE, Miami with the 18th pick. His comments:
The Titans need to give Marcus Mariota some more weapons; Njoku has the highest upside of any tight end in the draft. He would team up with Delanie Walker to terrorize opposing safeties and linebackers.
I don’t disagree with any of that, but this pick still seems a little crazy.
What are your thoughts about it?
