The Titans dominated the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Period. The only problem for some people is that the Dolphins are a train wreck of a team right now. Therefor, the win doesn't hold as much weight. Understandably, they want to see the Titans win against good teams. They may need a reminder that this team hasn't even been able to beat bad teams over the past 2 years.
We've talked about expectations numerous times this year. What do you want to see? What counts as improvement?
I've said before that I would be content with 6-10 at the end of the year. But more importantly than win count, I wanted to see the Titans beat other bad teams, play close against the mediocre teams, and not get destroyed by the good teams.
So far this year the Titan's biggest loss has come against the Vikings who are currently 5-0. The other two losses were to the 4-1 Raiders and now 3-2 Texans. Both games that the Titans were in.
This game absolutely counts as improvement, because last years team would have found a way to choke it away. Yes the Dolphins are bad. Yes they had injuries. But the Titans actually did what you would want them to do against such a team. And that alone is cause for a sigh of relief.
Next up is to just not regress when coming home to face another "should win" game against the Cleveland Browns and another back up quarterback.
