The Tennessee Titans have officially released the names of the players that were waived this weekend in order to cut the roster down to 53 players. While many view this as the "final" cut, it is still an ongoing process. Fringe players cannot breathe just yet, because the team will surely be looking at players released around the league. The following names are the players that did not make the cut:
OLB Andy Studebaker
DT Isaako Aaitui
OL Gabe Ikard
FB Zach Boren
CB Ri'Shard Anderson
DB Jamea Thomas
WR Josh Stewart
LB Kaelin Burnett
DB Khalid Wooten
OL Byron Stingily
QB Alex Tanney
OL Will Poehls
WR Hakeem Nicks
WR Tre McBride
WR Jacoby Ford
WR Rico Richardson
OL Josue Matias
RB David Fluellen
Injured Reserve: Zaviar Gooden, J.R. Tavai, Yawin Smallwood
Just by glancing at the initial 53 man roster, it's hard to believe that the team is even close to finished. There are five tight ends and four wide receivers, and the team is light along the offensive line and at linebacker, both inside and outside. Pair that with what was already questionable depth at cornerback, and you have some possible moves by the team in the near future. There will almost certainly be more news this weekend. Stay tuned.
