Everyone, just relax about the Marcus Mariota contract.
I know that most readers of this site aren't worried about the contract, but everyday someone seems to ask a dumb question about whether Marcus Mariota will somehow get to the Philadelphia Eagles if he doesn't sign, or something as off-the-wall.
Today, someone asked Peter King a similar question over twitter and he responded the way everyone should at this point:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Mariota will sign. People need to stop worrying about it. <a href="https://t.co/iZMZ5xQQ6z">https://t.co/iZMZ5xQQ6z</a></p>— Peter King (@SI_PeterKing) <a href="https://twitter.com/SI_PeterKing/status/622425896759218176">July 18, 2015</a></blockquote>

Marcus Mariota has been great at practices by all accounts and the team was so enamored with the former Oregon Ducks quarterback that they declined trade offers from multiple teams (or at least that is what was said on draft day).
This team has seemingly seen what a good quarterback Mariota can become, and everyone from Delanie Walker to Shawn Jefferson (a notoriously harsh critic) seems to rave about him.
"He's the real deal. A couple years ago I was back in Detroit and when Matthew Stafford stepped into the huddle the first time, once I heard his voice and the way he called a play, I said, 'OK, that's a real one right there.' Same way with this one. He's real. He's got the goods."
-Shawn Jefferson
I mean, do people really think that this team is going to let him sit out of training camp over offset language that will ultimately be meaningless (in all likelihood).
When a deal gets done (which will happen sooner rather than later) this team will get their franchise quarterback and everyone will stop talking about it. However, until then it is July and there are very few stories to go around.
So, until that deal gets done, every time you hear someone talk about some nonsensical rumor that Mariota will not be with the Titans, just come back to this story and look at what Peter King and Shawn Jefferson said, and just laugh it off.
