After all the insanity and fanfare following the NFL Draft for the Titans, things seem to be quieting down a little bit as the squad goes through their OTA's. During this time of year, no news is almost always good news. Outside of the added attention Mariota has brought to town, there are no big contract decisions looming, no camp holdouts, and just as importantly, no off the field drama to be considered.
Not all of the NFL's 32 teams can make this claim. Adrian Peterson continues to but heads with the Vikings front office, now about his contract, the Patriots have decided to suffer their punishment from "DeflateGate", but their QB Tom Brady, has done the opposite, the Dallas Cowboys have both Greg Hardy's suspension and Dez Bryant's franchise tender on their mind...I could go on and on.
The Tennessee Titans need to keep their head down and get to work, with much to atone for following 2014's debacle of a campaign. After the first couple of days at St. Thomas Sport's Park OTA's, it is definitely easy to get excited though. LeBeau and Whisenhunt have let on that they expect sophomore defensive lineman DaQuan Jones to start at DE opposite Jurrell Casey, there have been numerous reports of Mariota shining early on, and the team has restocked several needy position groups with NFL-grade talent. Hopefully the team can surprise us next season.
