Akeem Ayers working his way back from two offseason knee surgeries

Wesley Hitt

Akeem Ayers is still not 100% after going under the knife twice this offseason.

According to John Glennon, Akeem Ayers has not been working with the first team in the individual portion of OTAs.  That is a bit alarming, but at least there is a reason.  Ayers is still not 100% after having a procedure on each knee since last season ended.

It has long been speculated that Ayers is a better fit for a 3-4 than a 4-3.  He is finally going to get the chance to prove that this season, but he needs to get completely healthy in order to really make an impact.

The good news here is that he should be ready to go when training camp starts.
