The Titans have a way of surprising us in the draft every year. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to be mind blown by a selection Thursday. I expect to be mind blown. It's the full rage I go into about 15 seconds later (causing me to miss the analysis on TV because I have to leave the room and chain smoke for the next three selections while I convince myself out loud it was not a dumb pick and scare the wife and kids)
The point is that most of us draft followers think we know within a reasonable certainty that they can't pass on this guy or that guy. But they do. They pass on him and everyone else we collectively thought would be in consideration based on our prospective of needs and how we rank the draft pool.
But than, it happens. 2012. Kendall Wright. I admit I was fuming. Not because I didn't like him. But like many i just didn't see it coming. I thought if dre kirk was gone we were going pass rusher, and maybe Decastro. No one saw Wright coming I guarantee. If we were going receiver, I remember there was a small Stephen Hill club and another club for Alshon Jeffery.
Basically no one saw Wright coming and he has arguably been the most solid first round pick in a while so far And we all geew to love him and the selection.
I am fully prepared for something like this to happen again this year. Just like Hunter last year and Wright before him. After about 30 second, you love it. But it doesn't register immediately why the passed on a position that we thought we had to have. This year there aren't really any gaping wholes like years before.
I'll leave it open in the comments to list some potential surprise picks in the first round or two. Just back it up.
