The Cleveland Browns released inside linebacker D'Qwell Jackson yesterday. I hate to use the word perfect, but Jackson is THE PERFECT target for the Titans. He was the defensive captain for the Browns last season. The same Browns defense that was coached by new Titans defensive coordinator Ray Horton.
It is tough for a team to transition from a 4-3 to a 3-4 as the Titans will try to do this year. Adding Jackson to the mix would give Horton someone who already knows his defense. That would be an invaluable resource on the field.
The Titans are also desperate for help at linebacker. Jackson would be a major upgrade over anyone that they are looking at running out there right now.
Jackson is 31 years old. They shouldn't offer him a long-term deal with a lot of guaranteed money, but they could put together a contract that would pay him handsomely in the first couple of years.
Make it happen, Ruston!
