Jerlindsey's Weekly Picks! (Week Four)

Week Four

Sorry this is a little late, everyone. I had a death happen in the family (wife's side), so I have been a little preoccupied with things. I wasn't able to get my picks posted by Thursday's game, but I think it was a little obvious who I would have picked to win that game. I won't be able to watch the game live tomorrow (sucks) for I will be traveling back home all day. I have the game scheduled to tape at home though, so hopefully I won't hear anything about the game until after I watch it. Well last week I didn't do too well in my picks. I went 9 - 7 which puts me at 31 - 17 for the season so far. Not too bad, but could be better. Ok. Lets get to it:

St. Louis vs San Francisco

Winner: San Francisco

Reason: The Rams haven't done much to impress anyone. I know the 49ers have lost two in a row, but I do not expect them to lay down and die against the Rams. (Disclaimer: I had picked the Niners to win prior to this posting, but again, due to family matters, wasn't able to get my pick in on time...but I mean...come on...who REALLY thought the Rams would win?).

Baltimore vs Buffalo

Winner: Baltimore

Reason: Honestly, Buffalo has been impressing me lately. They were close to beating the evil empire in week one, won an exciting game against the Panthers, and almost won against the Jets last week. I'm a little hesitant to give them the win against Baltimore for some reason. Maybe they will surprise this week and get the "upset" (not that I would be upset to see the Ratbirds lose...ever).

Cincinnati vs Cleveland

Winner: Cincinnati

Reason: Hats off to the Bengals. I really didn't think they would be Rodgers and the Packers. Hats off to the Browns as well. I really was not expecting them to start their 3rd string QB and win. I'm way more impressed with Cincinnati though. They should get the win here.

Chicago vs Detroit

Winner: Chicago

Reason: I actually got to watch some of that Chicago vs Steelers game last week. Was pretty impressed by what I saw on their defense. Was also impressed to see Cutler plow his shoulder into someone. I think they show that same fire against a divisional rival and win.

Seattle vs Houston

Winner: Seattle

Reason: The Texans got embarrassed last week against the Ratbirds. Now it's time for the Seahawks to swoop in and pick off the remains.

Indianapolis vs Jacksonville

Winner: Indianpolis

Reason: I would LOVE to see Jacksonville shock the world and win this game. I would LOVE to see Irsay have a mental breakdown on twitter because of such a loss. Logic tells me to pick the Colts, but my heart is hoping the Sparkle Kitties are the actual victors.

New York (Giants) vs Kansas City

Winner: Kansas City

Reason: The Giants blow.

Pittsburgh vs Minnesota

Winner: Pittsburgh

Reason: I think Pittsburgh gets their win across the pond. Not that I really care.

Arizona vs Tampa Bay

Winner: Arizona

Reason: Tampa Bay isn't playing to well. They start their second stringer tomorrow. Arizona should be able to capitalize on that.

New York (Jets) vs Tennessee

Winner: Tennessee

Reason: OH NO! I'M BLINDED BY MY HOMERISM!!!!1111 Seriously, though, I'm not that impressed by the Jets. Yeah yeah, "OH BUT THE BEAT TAMPA BAY AND ALMOST BEAT THE PATRIOTS!!!!111 THEY ALSO BEAT BUFFALO!" Who. Gives. A. Shit? Not this guy. Tampa Bay has been horrible, the Patriots are not really "who we thought they were" this year, and Buffalo is still Buffalo. They are playing a Titans defense that has been playing their guts out these past few weeks. Not to mention an offense that is putting it together. I still have wonderful dreams of that last TD pass from Locker to Hunter. Holy shit. I've been going to bed with a smile on my face all week. GO TITANS!

Philadelphia vs Denver

Winner: Denver

Reason: Peyton Manning has been slicing defenses apart. This Eagles defense shouldn't give Peyton that much trouble to dissect.

Washington vs Oakland

Winner: Oakland

Reason: I guess this is my "upset" pick? I watched that Denver vs Oakland game last week, and was actually impressed with what I was seeing from the Raiders. Pryor kind of impressed me some as well. Washington, on the other hand, hasn't shown me too much. I think the Raiders pull the upset here.

Dallas vs San Diego

Winner: San Diego

Reason: Dallas will show why they are Dallas this week.

New England vs Atlanta

Winner: Atlanta

Reason: New England has had a couple of close games this week. I'm not convinced they have what it takes to beat up an actual opponent like the Falcons.

Miami vs New Orleans

Winner: New Orleans

Reason: Who knew the Dolphins would be undefeated after week 3? Not I! Two undefeated teams go in, only one comes out. I think the Saints are that team. Why? Drew Brees.

So there it is. Another week, and another selection of picks. Sorry again for the last post, and remember, little to no research ever goes into these picks. I'm simply a simple man making simple picks. See you again next week.
