Delanie Walker - 5 catches, 49yds
For the second straight week, I will highlight Delanie Walker. The TE was a key cog in the offense this week and Locker found him a few times in some key positions. He gives Jake the security blanket Jared Cook never could, and looked the part both blocking and running routes down the field. His single highlighted error was a bad drop on a beautiful pass on the last drive, almost causing an INT that would have ended the game. Otherwise, it was a strong performance from Walker, who seems to be jelling with Locker and this offensive system.
When I heard "Holding, Number 67", I was already getting prepared for another poor day from this offensive line. They surprised me this week though, and Levitre was a big part of that. Alongside a resugent Turner and Warmack, the ex-Bill standout helped keep a clean pocket for Locker for much of the day, and when things did break down, he showed the veteran savvy to give Locker a chance to escape the pocket. In the run game, Levitre was a solid contributor, opening holes for CJ on his way to 90 yards on solid, consistent chunks. The Titans need more games like this out of this offensive line, as the offense really all grows from their performance.
Moise Fokou – 7 tackles, 1 assist
Fokou was all over the field for the defense. He led the team in tackles despite leaving for a period with an injury, where he was replaced by Colin McCarthy. Fokou returned to the lineup however, and led the defense in an effort which saw San Diego fail to crack 300 yards of offense and noticeably force the ball to the short routes with good coverage on the back end.
Bernard Pollard - 4 tackles, 2 asst
Had to add some of this guy too. Pollard made some strong tackles and was yet again, decent in coverage. The veteran safety showed some great leadership and added a momentum-shifting play with a big blocked FG at the end of the first half. The Titans are so lucky to have this guy in the building.
Jackie Battle – 4 carries, 12 yards
Ropati Pitoitua – 3 tackles
George Wilson – 1 tackle
Rob Turner- struggled again
Sammie Hill – OUT
Shonn Greene - OUT
