I saw a comment around here somewhere about locker's % of throws resulting in first down. I'd like to see this number spread for the entire offense if anyone has the resources and time!
As it played out I didnt see cj when we were down 2-0, as we would have some successful passes, a short cj run, a drop, a short cj run, and a punt, until the end of the half. I think this was in part caused by the reynaud mistake, and the strong opening drive by the steelers before the redman fumble. However when it came time to put one on the board, with the time remaining and the field position, I said outload to myself, run it down their throats. I love that my Titans are still who I think they are. We needed one touchdown to be able to control the game and with 11/12 runs and a good play from TE Walker (a reliable TE for once, which is obviously crucial in a Titans style offense) we got it. While the rest of the game was mundane, we managed to control the ball and move it in field goal range for times. 12 points seems negligent compared to high powered offense out there but time of possession is overlooked, because its not always obvious what impacts it has on defensive playcalling. I was a skeptic to the aggressive Williams style, but after seeing it, the aggressive style helps get the defense off the field and keep their edge against the offense, for some reason I'd not considered this.
I just hope it keeps up.
