A Little Fan Conspiracy, or Another reason to be excited this year.

Hey, everyone! First, I'd like to thank you all so much for all of your contributions to this site since I first started lurking a little more than a year ago. When I wake up before dawn and head to long days at work, the multiple (high quality!) articles and comments every day are really helpful. So, thanks a ton!

These are just a few observations that I've been piecing together lately. Since Sunday, I've been trying to determine just what this team is capable after a very convincing win over a tough Steelers squad. What we saw was a hugely run-focused orientation. On offense, they were unstoppably committed to the run, leading the league in carries. They plowed the ball forward, yard by yard, for 42 of their 63 plays, just chomping on the clock against arguably the defense in the league in 2012. On defense, they absolutely crushed, Ben Roethlisberger, the toughest QB in the league, sacking him 5 times and winding up atop the league. It's clear our team was putting on it's toughest face against a formidable team, using three-tight end sets for 25% of their offensive plays, and they succeeded. Meanwhile, our receivers were barely on the field. Our receivers played between only 64 and 28 percent of the offensive snaps.

Lately I've begun wondering if our offense on Sunday was a finely-tuned machine to defeat a very tough, physical Steelers team on their own turf on opening weekend, a league-leading record. After all, Dowell Loggains is a man genius. So, what if our fresh, new offensive coordinator is preparing another finely-tuned machine for next week, as Munchak suggested recently. I'm predicting we'll see a highly different offense next week against a high-octane Texans team. By next week, Kendall Wright should be feeling 100%, and our deep list of receiver threats will be ready to attack. Expect to see Shawn Jefferson kicking their butts all week long in practice, prepping them to fuel Locker's air-raid offense. We'll set up the pass with a dominating run game and our defense will hold when it counts (as we saw in the Falcons game), and we'll grab the Fexans by the throat, doing everything we can to beat them at their own game.

All-in-all, we may not win next week, but I think our FO is doing everything it can to get this team exactly where it needs to be for victory next week. And I think they'll continue doing it every single week of the 2013 season. And that's why I'm damn excited to see what this Titans team is capable of this year. Mangenius_medium
