So far the 2013 roster is kicking the crap out of the 2012 roster. That doesn't mean anything right now, but it can't be a bad thing. This is the first group that is going to require some discussion.
2012 tight ends: Jared Cook, Craig Stevens, Taylor Thompson, Brandon Barden
2013 tight ends: Delanie Walker, Craig Stevens, Taylor Thompson, Brandon Barden, Jack Doyle
Advantage: 2013
The one word that always came up with Jared Cook was potential. He had the potential to be a breakout star. He had the potential to be a fantasy football stud. How many times did we hear that? The problem is it never came to fruition.
Now Cook is gone. That breakout potential isn't on the team anymore, but the group is still better from top to bottom. Walker has the potential to be a good receiver, and his blocking skills are ridiculously better than Cook's. Stevens is solid. Thompson is improving. Barden is still here, and Doyle is a guy that a lot of people have been raving about (probably a practice squad stash). Dowell Loggains is going to have a lot of options with these guys.
So, did the Titans get better at tight end in 2013?
