It's the offseason and I'm bored out of my mind.
With that being said, I bring to you my documented prediction for the Tennessee Titans 2013 WRs. I think we can all agree on the top four. Kenny Britt, Nate Washington, Kendall Wright, and Justin Hunter are all not only definite locks to make the team, but will likely see the most playing time.
The question of "how many receivers do the Titans keep this year" has been raised on more than one occasion. With the Titans showing signs of being smart with depth and competition, I will make a case for keeping seven to eight.
Kevin Walter is making the team. He's a versatile leader that can play inside or outside. His blocking ability is on par with our TE's and his locker room presence of professionalism is already paying off.
Marc Mariani barring injury will make this roster. If he's 100% healthy, he is 100% on the team. He will either be the sixth, seventh, or eighth WR on the team and he will be last on the depth chart. Mariani is in the final year of a very inexpensive contract. He is a probowl returner that is used to being underestimated. A walk-on in college turned local hero in Montana, drafted in the seventh round by our beloved Titans deservingly went to the ProBowl his rookie year. Mariani has been a model Titan.
Damian Williams and/or Michael Preston could occupy the final two spots should the Titans keep eight receivers. Although this is a real possibility, given the fact of Britt's history of instability combined with Hunter's current instability and the fact that Mariani is mainly a returner, I don't believe they will keep eight. My guess is seven, with Mariani being the seventh and Damian Williams occupying the sixth.
Let me know what you think and if you wouldn't mind, give me your opinion of which receivers will make the best team in football. Make your voice heard in the comments section and, as always, here is a fancy poll for you to vote in.
