According to an excellent City Paper article, Loggains is done with Locker using a wristband to call in plays. This year it will be full on helmet radio and unbridled eye contact.
“My thing with the wristband is I believe the quarterback should know the gameplan well enough,” Loggains said. “If the headset goes out, then he should be able to call the game. … We’ll use a wristband for emergencies only, but we won’t call the plays in like we used to that way.”
This is a small thing and I'm not sure if it will affect Locker's abilities one way or the other. McNair used both systems. Brady and Roethlisberger use a wristband and they do all right. Looking back though it always seemed like both Hass and Locker looking down at the wristband were both still learning the offense. That is how it looks. If nothing else my personal annoyance with the appearance will be alleviated so I am for it. I'll drop a poll to get a consensus:
