Tampering Day 1 Titans news and rumors!
With Day 1 of the three day "sanctioned tampering" period almost over, it's time to parse through the media chatter and get a read on the Titans' tea leaves. Here's what we have so far:
#Titans already after Bills guard Andy Levitre tnne.ws/WdnTmK

#Titans interested in SF defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois tnne.ws/WB9DXq

#Titans have some interest in brothers Martellus Bennett (#Giants)and Michael Bennett(#Bucs) as well as #Jets TE Dustin Keller.

Also of note:
I've been told the Packers and RB Steven Jackson have engaged in conversations and there is mutual interest between the two parties

I can't imagine that the Titans have enough cap space to swing all these deals but if they could land at least two or three of names mentioned, it would fill so many holes on this team heading into the draft. If I was Ruston Webster, I'd lean towards focusing my priorities on Andy Levitre and the Bennett of the Michael variety. Get these two under contract and everything else would be gravy. After the initial wave of free agency, there's always gems to be found (i.e Kam Wimbley certainly worked out in our favor instead of overpaying for Mario Williams, didn't he?). The players that I've been posting about yesterday and today qualify as hidden gems (OK, Gamble might not be as he's a known commodity and would be an awesome signing). If the Titans could get Anquan Boldin, Levitre, and a defensive end out of the first few days of the FA period, I'd be downright giddy about the team in 2013.
Also if the Packers or Falcons get Steven Jackson, then wow those offenses would be even more ridiculous to cover. The Falcons especially so with Roddy White, Julio Jones, Jackson, and if Tony Gonzalez returns, look out NFL. One thing is for sure, the NFC would be a lot more entertaining to watch next year.
And to end this post with a perfect explanation of noisy neighbors, here's the video of Canada and Mexico baseball going at it on US turf: Noisy Neighbor Brouhaha
