Per Jim Wyatt, end Matt Shaughnessy is scheduled to meet with the Titans on Friday if he completes a visit with the Cardinals. He fits what the Titans are looking for in their defensive ends: A very big body that can hold up against the run. He comes in at a listed 6'5 285 so if he were to sign with the Titans, paired up with Sammie Lee Hill's 6'4 329, that's a big load of beef in the trenches. Shaughnessy is yet another Raiders cap casualty (they seem to always have a supply of those). I also featured him in my tier two free agent post as a potential Titans target. Does Webster read my stuff? Hmmm.

Would I sign him if the price is right? Absolutely. The Titans depth issue at end is a glaring one that needs immediate resolution. They simply cannot ask for Kamerion Wimbley and Derrick Morgan to take almost 90% of the snaps again. It's counterproductive as both wore down as the snap totals mounted at a horrific pace. Shaughnessy would help alleviate the burden by rotating with Wimbley/Morgan in certain packages. He could play end while Wimbley slides back into outside linebacker role at times. If he's willing to come here to a more "stable" environment for the right price, then come on aboard. After the success of Wimbley last year, I don't see why the Titans shouldn't bring him in for at least a look.
