The Titans introduced their results of the new shock and awe strategy

The Titans just had their press conference today to introduce the four newest Titans signed in the past day or so. Yeah I'm still trying to recover from the unprecedented whirlwind of activity that the team put us through. Here are some highlights of the brief meet and greet:

My notes:

  • The highlight of the presser has to be when Levitre said that JJ Watt isn't Superman. I love this guy already.
  • Webster mentioned that it was fun to set a plan for free agency and actually go about doing it. He said that he felt pressure to get some signings after a dismal season.
  • Both Shonn Greene and Sammie Hill said that the Titans were the first team to call their agents
  • Levitre also mentioned that the fact that Munchak and Matthews are both Hall of Fame linemen played a factor in his decision to sign. He also talked about how Nashville is a great city and heard nothing but good things about everything in Titans land.

My thoughts:

It's refreshing to see this organization to be so aggressive in pursuing players to fill holes on the roster. Levitre strikes me as the type of guy who'll rip defender's hearts out but do it quietly and efficiently. It's great to hear that Greene has bought into the team concept and will do anything to help CJ even if it means taking a lesser role. Walker was a late attendee due to paperwork issues but he owned up to his drops last year and promised to work hard to correct them. Hill is a very big man. He might be playing the Vince Wilfork role in some 3-4 looks due to his size. The Titans still have ample amount of space to do whatever they need to even before they have to restructure anyone's deals. I wouldn't mind signing a fleet footed big body WR like a Danario Alexander or drafting one. Speaking of the draft, I have a feeling that the Titans will give in to the habit of shocking everyone again this year. All these signings has made predicting what they'll do into a crapshoot.
