that has to be quietest I've ever seen an NFL crowd! I go to a lot of travel games - St Louis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Denver, New York.....I'm pretty sure that the only time that I've heard a crowd at a 3-0 game that quiet was when paramedics were on the field!
Seriously, Tennessee fans are incredibly hospitable, really nice folks. When I went out to my car, I was invited over to a Titan's fans' tailgate. Everyone was friendly, believed in their team, thought they were the best team on the field, but complimentary. A few new the 9ers pretty well also. Really friendly, informed, motivated fans. I especially loved seeing all the Oilers diehard fans. That was call.
Then, the game started. Everyone SAT DOWN???!!!! Sitting on opening kick off! I had never seen such a thing. Then, Titans started on offense. Good - they know to be quiet for their team. But when the 9ers got the ball, they stayed just about the same.
I skipped church to go the game. As quiet as it was, I thought maybe I was back at church :).
Ya'll have a great team and a decent shot at the playoffs this year. Tighten down the line, cut back on some bonehead plays and get a few more weapons and it'll be 2000 all over for you. So, I think you should stand up and scream and shout like you do for the Volunteers.
