Hey all you Titans fans out there! You guys/gals might've seen last week that we were incapable of vanquishing your division rival the Colts, though the week prior we had succeeded against your other division rival the Texans. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, well, because we're from Seattle and apologies come pretty naturally to us. So here the Seahawks sit at 4-1 ready to take on your 3-2 Titans. From the look of things, this is going to shape up to be an excellent defensive battle. Here's why:
-The Seahawks defense has given up an average of 16.2 points per game, due in large part to our giving up 34 points to the Colts this last week.
-Seattle's defensive line is up to full strength after having been without 2012 first round pick Bruce Irvin for the first 4 games, without Chris Clemons for a couple games due to rehab from his torn ACL in January, and without Cliff Avril for a few games due to recovering from a hamstring issue. Avril has 2 sacks, Micheal Bennett has 2.5 sacks, Clemons has 2 sacks, and Bruce Irvin has a sack in his one game. Even backups Tony McDaniel and O'Brien Schofield have a sack apiece. In short, pressure if coming from everywhere, from everyone, on any given down.
The Seahawks won't be without their issues, however. Starting MLB will be a gametime decision after suffering an ankle sprain in Indianapolis. Starting TE Zach Miller is a gametime decision as well due to a hamstring issue. Injuries along the offensive line are of the utmost imortance. Starting Center Max Unger will be back in the lineup this week after missing the last two games due to an upper arm injury, but starting LT Russell Okung and RT Breno Giacomini will both be sidelined this game.
I'll leave it at that so as to let my birds of a feather may flock together and answer your questions while limiting cacophonous ka-kawing that might otherwise be a major downer in a cross-blog thread such as this one.
Also, please "Rec" this so as to give it the appropriate place of majesty it deserves. And thanks to those who are most graciously participating in the other thread already posted on Field Gulls. If you wish to participate there sooner than you would normally be able to due to the wait period, contact Danny Kelly to waive the waiting period.
