There are a lot of silly bets that surround the Super Bowl. They are referred to as prop bets. Last week I posted the list of all of the prop bets that are available. I went back and looked through them, and this one jumped out as me as the most ridiculous:

What will happen with the Dow Jones the day after the Super Bowl?

Market Up -140 (5/7)

Market Down EVEN (1/1)

I know that NFL is far reaching and very popular in America, but why is the Dow Jones affected the next day? That one doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I would think that if anything, the market would more likely be down the next day because people would be less productive.

But then again, Vegas didn't build all of those big buildings by being stupid. Seeing that the market is favored to be up the next day, there must be a trend of the market being up the next day.
