For the last couple of years, the Tennessee Titans have been waiting for tight end Jared Cook to have a break out season. The 6 foot 5, 248 pound tight end has all of the physical attributes to be a successful player. He has an uncanny combination of size and speed, which can be very helpful to Jake Locker. Cook is fast off the line of scrimmage, and is good at separating himself from defenders. Last season, Cook had 49 receptions, for 759 yards and 3 touchdowns. He got off to a slow start, but had a good finish, collecting a total of 335 yards in the last 3 games. In 2010, Cook also finished the season on a high note, but failed to carry over the momentum to the start of last season. Cook has been inconsistent since being drafted in the third round of the 2009 draft, but he is looking to change that. This year the Titans are expecting big things from him, including getting off to a quicker start. In week one, he needs to contribute more in the receiving game due to the suspension of top receiver, Kenny Britt. The Titans will only have four receivers eligible to play, and Cook, being the freakish athlete he is, needs to take full advantage of the opportunity. Will Jared Cook be the Rob Gronkowski of the 2012 season? Nobody knows; but we do know Cook has a particular set of skills that not many guys possess. Will Jared Cook breakout this year? Only time will tell.
