Please do not over react...

There are a number of issues right now with this franchise. The issues are relatively minor, and there is a clear, stable, plan in place to overcome them. One must understand that these two weeks, and for heck sake the next 4 as well, are extremely difficult spots for our beloved Titan organization. Before I say more, I want to plead guilty to never having played football in my life, however my background stems from taking bets, and helping organize a gambling ring in NYC, as well as being a medium to high level college baseball recruit. Here is what I see...

These two weeks were simply not fair. This was a brutal spot for Jake, this team, and the coaching staff to prepare. We played two veteran offenses that are both in win now mode, and have operated well in this league for nearly a decade. We have a combination of ingredients that have had no such success. Playing across the country in 90 degree heat cannot be easy for anyone, although that is far less of an excuse than the fact that our personnel and planning was just severely overmatched.

One thing at a time...The Chris Johnson/Michael Griffin problems are serious. CJ has not been productive since the exit of Kevin Mawae. I don't care what anyone or any stat sheet says...CJ was was below average in 2010. He tacked on big runs late, and was so preoccupied with padding stats that one could not help but be nauseated. Michael Griffin has not been good since Big Al. Are the two related? Hard to say. The issue of dead cap money is a serious problem.

The coaching staff. Whether we like it or not, this coaching staff is perfect for the type of team we have. Jerry Gray has spent time bouncing back and forth from the college and pro level. Palmer is a "cleaner/developer," and the very harsh reality is that something is being built here. This is not a finished project. Munch's calm professional, go about your business, this is how you behave, this is what we do attitude is also helpful. This approach will enable our young core to get better, and this is something that cannot be lost in harsh defeats like today.

Lastly, we must remain pleased with Jake. The kid has been extremely impressive in these two weeks. He is clearly working, staying in the pocket, picking up for the Oline when they suck, and frankly that is the most important thing at this point. The two turnovers, fumble last wk, and int this wk were tough and had huge impacts in our chances of winning, but Jake's development is far more important than any win or loss that can come from a game. Additionally, the defensive line produced better than they will be given credit for, imagine the gas that they had left in the tank by the end.

The Roster. Safety, Center, and Running Back, are becoming enormous needs. Renforcements all along the D may also be in order, but my belief is that things are going to materialize with this Titan team. It may not be this year, and it may be next, but as fans I think it is fair to these players and coaches that we buy in to them. We believe that the process is something worthwhile, that the idea of being sustainably good is more attractive than one playoff run every 4 or 5 years.

I know this is remarkably optimistic, but I am curious what you all think of my outlook. Thank you all for your time, and keep up the great work.
