The Tennessee Titans have released defensive tackle Shaun Smith. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been following this team. You pretty much new it was coming when he was out there in the 4th quarter against the Seahawks.

Smith just never seemed to fit in the Titans 4-3 for whatever reason. That combined with the fact that so many of the defensive tackle draft picks in the last two years have been home runs made this an obvious decision. By releasing him early, the Titans do give him a better shot of catching on with another team. He is now out there before the masses hit the market.

I am just sad we will not get to see him do a yoga pose after sacking a quarterback.
