Starter! (Photo by Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images)
As if he knew the best way to start off our week, Jim Wyatt brings us the news this morning that Jake Locker will be your starting quarterback for the week one matchup against the New England Patriots. #10 will also start this Thursday against the Cardinals and probably play into the third quarter. Mike Munchak had said that he wanted to have a decision by the third preseason game, and he got it even if it didn't play out exactly like he hoped against the Buccaneers.
Although an official announcement is expected later today from the team, it appears that they have decided the future is now and there is no use in further delaying. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best thing for the team, and that Locker will take the news and run with it. We will obviously have much more on this throughout the day.
It's Locker Time! I don't know about you, but I. Am. Excited. LWSS!!
GO TITANS!
