The Tennessee Titans announced today that Gerald McRath will have knee surgery in the coming days that will cause him to miss the entire 2012 season. McRath was probably facing an uphill battle to make this team anyway, but there is no doubt that he has been a valuable contributor on special teams.
This is tough news for McRath, but you have to love his attitude about it. Here is what he told Titans Online:
"It’s a hard decision to make, but like I said, everything happens for a reason," McRath said. "I’m blessed to be here. I know God has a plan. It’s one of those things where you get it taken care of and you work hard to get back. It might be a minor setback, but I think this is where your character is really shown, and when adversity puts you back on the wall, it’s about how you decide to fight and bounce back."
Here's to hoping McRath has a quick recovery.
