Some tough decisions to make
Click through the jump to see my pre-training camp 53 man roster projection.
QB- Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Locker, Rusty Smith (3)
I don't know why they insist on keeping Rusty, but they do. I see no reason to believe that will change this year.
RB- Chris Johnson, Javon Ringer, Jamie Harper, Quinn Johnson (4)
Quinn makes the team coming out of camp, but he might not be around all season.
WR- Kenny Britt, Kendall Wright, Nate Washington, Damian Williams, Lavelle Hawkins, Marc Mariani (6)
Mariani stays because he contributes on special teams, but he is expendable if they need a roster spot during the season. Look for them to get Damian Williams some return opportunities in the preseason.
OL- Michael Roos, Leroy Harris, Eugene Amano, Steve Hutchinson, David Stewart, Fernando Velasco, Byron Stingily, Kevin Matthews, Mike Otto (9)
This group did not change enough from last season.
TE- Jared Cook, Craig Stevens, Taylor Thompson (3)
This is going to be a fun group to watch.
DE- Derrick Morgan, Kamerion Wimbley, Dave Ball, Pannel Egboh, Scott Solomon (5)
We need big things from Morgan and Wimbley here.
DT- Jurrell Casey, Karl Klug, Mike Martin, Sen'Derrick Marks, Zach Clayton (5)
The battle here in camp will be between Marks and Shaun Smith.
LB- Colin McCarthy, Tim Shaw, Akeem Ayers, Patrick Bailey, Will Witherspoon, Zach Brown (6)
Gerald McRath will be in the mix here at the end, but he ultimately loses out to someone at another position.
CB- Jason McCourty, Alterraun Verner, Tommie Campbell, Coty Sensabaugh, Chris Hawkins (5)
That last sport comes down to Hawkins and Ryan Mouton.
S- Michael Griffin, Jordan Babineaux, Robert Johnson, Aaron Francisco (4)
The Titans could very easily cut Johnson for a safety that becomes available. Also, Markelle Martin will be with the team in some capacity, but it is most likely that he ends up on IR- not counting against the 53.
Specialists- Rob Bironas, Brett Kern, Beau Brinkley (3)
It is weird to not see Ken Amato's name in this group.
