The Titans had another OTA today, and there is a little bit of interesting news that has come out of it. Chris Palmer mentioned in his comments to reporters after practice that Damian Williams might be more involved in the return game this year. Mike Munchak also mentioned that Kendall Wright has been working on catching punts.
These could be very bad signs for Marc Mariani. There is the chance that the Titans are just trying to make sure they have some depth at the return position, but it is looking more and more like Mariani is going to have a tough time making this team as a returner.
Mariani's best bet, it seems, is to prove to the coaches in camp and the preseason that he can contribute as a receiver. That is something that he has not shown he can do to this point.
Even that is quite the uphill battle with the guys they have in front of him. There is more depth at that position than there has been since the team moved to Nashville. I doubt they keep six receivers, and it is hard to see him beating out anyone that is currently ahead of him on the depth chart.
