Titans and Michael Griffin agree to terms on a Long-Term contract

Stay connected for news and updates

The Titans beat writers are reporting that the team has agreed to a long-term contract with Michael Griffin, who would have been playing under the franchise tag in the 2013 season. The two sides had until the middle of June to get a deal done. It is a little surprising to see this done right now.

It will be interesting to see what the terms of the deal are. We talked last week about the fact that he has been in attendance at all of the offseason workouts without signing the tender. That is a rare thing this day in age, and it was really good to see Griff do it.

Of course he might have been more willing to do it because he knew that a long-term deal was imminent. It could have been a thing where they told him negotiations would be easier if he was willing to be here and out in the work.
