We talked the other day about Kendall Wright's attitude so far in his short tenure with the Titans. Another guy who has been doing things right this offseason is Michael Griffin. We have given Griffin a lot of heat here in that past because of his inconsistent play, but you have to respect the fact that he is here working this offseason.
Of course he doesn't have much leverage to not be here and working, but we have seen guys in the past, I am looking at you Bo Scaife, who stayed away because they were unhappy about being overpaid for one season. Griffin told John Glennon that is not his style:
"Since I’ve been here, I’ve always been a no-public type guy," Griffin said. "I’ve always been quiet. That’s just me as a person. That’s my nature."Griffin has the ability to be an elite safety in this league. We saw it in his second year with the team. He also spaces out for weeks at a time and can look like one of the worst safeties in the league. Hopefully having the time with Jerry Gray this offseason, and a new secondary coach, will help him be focused every week.
This defense will be a much better unit if Griff plays to his full ability.
