CALL or UP IT ??????
I still have to stick with my belief that the Titans will go DT / DE / OG or C in the first three rounds. NO CB.
But with all the 'who's taking who' positioning going on in the first round, it makes me wonder what the Titans are really thinking? With Webster and Munch making statements like "We would really have to be impressed to take one(WR) in the first round" and "We can get good quality in the middle rounds(in referance to OG/C)", - Are they just showing their poker faces?.
These are believeable statements, - If - they can get 31 other teams to believe that is the way the Titans are leaning, it might influence 'who takes who' before #20, allowing a player the Titans really desired to fall to them. OR possibly influence a team behind them to want to trade up to get who they "think" the Titans may take.
Both of those positions(WR, OL) can be supported with argument that if the right player is there The Titans will bite. Taking a WR that can stretch the field opposite KB with Washington running krazy across the middle, along with a strong running game and an up and coming TE makes the offense 'scary". And a WR of that caliber would be insurance if KB goes down.
A top guard or center will make our QB and run game that much stronger. After all - Payton schooled us in the facts that if you score enough - you don't have to have a great defense.
That scares me but it's hard to argue with it's success.
It is common for teams to play the positioning game with statements, interviews etc. So again, Are we getting their poker face with their statements???
Guess we'll have to wait till tonight to see how they up the ante !!!!
