A lot has been made of Janoris Jenkins and his off the field issues during the draft process. It seems that teams have become increasingly scared of him as more information has come out. Most mock drafts do not have him going in the first round at this point.

Russ Lande of Sporting News talked to a team that even has Brandon Boykin of Georgia ranked ahead of Jenkins on the field:

One source told us that his team views Boykin as a better prospect than North Alabama’s Janoris Jenkins, regardless of Jenkins’ character issues. Look for Boykin and to be selected in the second round.

Boykin is a guy that would be getting a lot more pub right now had he not fractured his leg at the Senior Bowl. It will be interesting to see where he goes, but there is no way he makes it out of the second round.

Keep in mind that it only takes one team to fall in love with a guy for him not to fall too far in the draft. I have a feeling that some team will take a chance on Jenkins in the first round.
