Live NFL Mock Draft Result

I took part in the Live 3 round Mock Draft today. With real live GM's from team reps. Click on the before mentioned website to see their write up on the mock draft. I was the GM for both our Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals.

Seeing as a mock is suppose to be fun and not a matter of life or death, (Winni!), I decided to change up the draft for the Titans a bit. To go against the flow, be non-conformist, to get away from the cliche and trendy picks. I wanted to see how the mock would play out if we did NOT go with a DE with our first pick. I decided that I would put more weight on BPA over position of need with our first pick.

Here were the Titans picks:

(1) 20 - Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis

(2) 52 - Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse

(3) 82 - Brandon Washington, OG, the U

Before you mock my mock, go ahead and check out how the draft played out after the jump and why I chose who I drafted.

First Round - Consensus Big Boards across the fruited plains of the internet have Poe as the 12.5th ranked prospect. Click here for Walterfootball consensus big board or here for MTD's consensus big board. Thought Poe was a steal at 20. Perhaps he can be that destructive force we once had when Haynesworth was here. Dontari Poe's athletic ability, strength and quickness he will demand double teams and thus make the rest of the d-line better which in turn helps our secondary. Plus we sucked against the run last year too and at 6'4", 350 he will wreak havoc around the ball.

Second Round -We almost had CB, Boykin C, Konz, & DE's Perry and Branch fall to us in the second. I would have gone with one of them in a heart beat. Instead I took Chandler Jones. (I love his bro, UFC Champ - Jon Jones!) Chandler is ranked as the 41st best prospect by the consensus big board from Walterfootball and 55th from MTD. So grabbing Jones at 52 was good value, especially since he was the last of the second round DE talent. His write up on here. I would have considered Ben Jones but on the consensus boards he is a 3rd round talent. And I wouldnt have dreamed touching Brewster in 2nd, 125th ranked prospect.

Third Round - We need a guard. Brandon Washington was there. I took him. I did consider Philip Blake C, but again, BPA by far was Washington. 78 vs. 110.

In later rounds I would have liked these players: 4th - One of these CB's Josh Norman Coast Carolina or Dwight Bentley, LA-Lafayette. 5th - David Molk, C, Michigan. 6th - BPA OLB 7th - whoever is left.
