Terry McCormick is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have "some interest" in Asante Samuel. The Philadelphia Eagles seems to be willing to trade Samuel, and they are reportedly asking for a third round pick in exchange. The Titans are not known for making these types of moves, but a third round pick seems like a perfectly reasonable asking price for Samuel. This is something the Titans should seriously consider.
As McCormick points out, Samuel does have a pretty big contract in the remaining two years of his current deal. His base salary is $9.9 million for 2012 and $11.4 million for 2013. Samuel's agent did tell McCormick that they would be willing to renegotiate to take the cap hit down in those two years.
Look at it this way, you can spend a first round pick on Dre Kirkpatrick or Stephon Gilmore, or you could spend a third round pick on a proven commodity in Samuel. Seems like an easy choice.
