There was some dialogue yesterday on Twitter between some NFL Draft people that Dre Kirkpatrick might project better as a free safety in the NFL. That is a very interesting thought if you are the Titans and he is sitting there at #20. Mark Barron is obviously the better pick as a safety if he is there, but there are questions about his cover skills by some people (which I think is crazy). There would be no doubt about Kirkpatrick's abilities in coverage.

All of that being said, Russ Lande of the Sporting News has put out a new mock today, and he as the Titans taking Kirkpatrick with the 20th pick. Here is what he had to say about the pick:

Cortland Finnegan is a free agent, and the Titans have shown a willingness to gamble on players like Kirkpatrick who have immense talent but off-field concerns.

I will be sick to my stomach if Courtney Upshaw ends up with the Steelers.
