Dan Synder and the Redskins are on the clocks. The Redskins finished 5-11 but they were 2-0 vs the Super Bowl Champs New York Giants. This could be me Mike Shanahan's last year as the coach being unable to produce a Division Title let alone a playoff berth.

I am leaning Reiff...I also think the Redskins will pull out the checkbook for a FA QB...

….not only is that a good reason to go OL with 6th pick but OL just happens to be one of the biggest needs for the Redskins.

Don't think go Tackle here. They owe RT Jammal Brown 3.25 million and LT Trent Williams 11 million.

They should trade down and get in better position to draft QB Ryan Tannehill late first, early second.

I'm hearing they might cut Brown because he was a sieve last year.

I rec'd Quinton Coples. DE Adam Carriker is FA, and even though they have a untested 2nd round DE in Jarvis Jenkins, Coples seem like he'd fit their 3-4 scheme and would be an upgrade, talent wise.

Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

On their SBnation site they seem to think free agent Tim Hightower out with an ACL tear won't be retained. And that RB Relu can't carry the team and want this guy.

Trent Richardson.

Trade pick to Broncos who take Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

Redskins receive #25 pick and 2013 1st round pick (not sure if this is within the rules of this mock draft to trade a pick from next year, but its similar to the ATL trade from last year)

I like the thought...I'll have to think about it before I rec.

The best possible scenario for Richardson would be in Denver

He will get a LOT of touches as a feature back if they could get him. It would be a dream team combo to have Richardson running the read option with Tebow. And Denver really doesn’t have a lot of holes that need to be filled with a top pick. Their defense is solid and they can work some in free agency to shore up the O-line and try to sign another big receiver.

and...

If washington trades down they could still be in position for one of the remaining QBs near the end of the first round and at a draft position that would make more sense

QB (whoops)

Don’t agree with it, but I think he’s going this high.

He's not that good, but I see them panicking and drafting him at this spot

World Series Champions 2011. Unbelievable. Tony LaRussa, you will be missed.

i doubt that they would panic

you only panic when something unexpected happens and for RG3 to go that high seems very predictable. besides they can get Flynn or draft a QB in the second round

by jv1222 on Feb 8, 2012 4:33 PM CST up reply actions

I think Flynn goes to Miami, and if your 2 best QBs are Sexy Rex and John Beck,

you’re pressing for a QB.

I think the Redskins will sign Manning in FA. Or Flynn.

This is when it starts to get fun! 6 different names thrown out there and a trade.

I’m still up in the air…its between Richardson and Reiff.

When you post a name…..make a reply post about why that person is a good fit. Some are more obvious than others.

Not a blaring team need

but I as somewhat of a Skins fan I see them needed to get more pressure on QBs. That said, If RGIII is gone I see them trading down to get a QB late, as said previously above.
