2012 NFL Mock Draft: The Redskins Trade Up to Take RG3
Here is a link to the first 2012 NFL Mock Draft that I did. That one was looking at what would happen if Trent Richardson fell outside the top 10. This one is looking at what happens if the Washington Redskins trade up to #2 to take Robert Griffin III.

I know a lot of people don't agree with taking a wide receiver in the first round, but who else should they take with that pick. Floyd easily has the best value if the draft plays out that way.

I like us getting Malcom Floyd...but does he have a twin that got drafted by the Jags?

Konz...
M. Floyd isn’t gonna do a lot of good if Jake doesn’t have time to get him the ball. We need a day one starter, and we wont get one in the third or forth round: those guys need time.
Take the center from wisconsin
I was just pointing out that this mock has Floyd in here twice, 7th to the Jags and then us.
That being said, I would LOVE Floyd, imagine that…Britt and Floyd with Cook and Washington. Our Pass protection has held up fine, so Locker is good.
We could grab BPA for OL in round two.. still lots of good players left to choose from, including Konz teammate, Zeitler…an OG who is stellar good at run blocking, as well as pass.

I just think it would be a luxury.
I too would LOVE a stud WR opposite a healthy Kenny and all that, but we aren’t going anywhere with that interior o-line, no matter how good they were in pass protection. I’d just really like Konz or DeCastro at #20. If they are gone, then take a WR or DE or whoever, but a C or G with a first round grade? A day one starter?
That would be lovely.
And besides, how many first round interior linemen bust? A lot less than WR or DE (thought that’s a horrible reason to pick one)
Also… Floyd is off the board… We have to take Konz… :) (i missed that somehow)
This. Somebody help me green this. Jimmy has no idea.

You have no idea
What it takes to be good in this league apparently. It takes a good passing game, and this passing game is never going to be good with Glass Legs Britt (not entirely his fault) and the rest of the guys out there. 9-7 with that group was a miracle, and it wouldn’t happen again.

And see the argument below
for why it would be a waste of a pick to take an interior lineman here.
Titans Blogger at Music City Miracles even though gramsey hates it.
Jimmy, I agree with you man. I like getting Michael Floyd at 20.
We can always get DE in 2nd, OL in 3rd…..or get WR, OL, or DE in FA then go with other two positions in first two rounds.

I'm not saying take an interior liineman
I’m saying do some work on a defense that needs help. The WR class is a lot deeper than half the defensive class. I’d rather get a receiver via free agency.
I was saying green this about the part where you had the same receiver going twice, not the fact that you had a receiver being picked by us. Don’t be hatin’.
That comment was just to alert you of that simple fact. It was not a attack on you.

I didn't have the same receiver going twice
I had us drafting Malcolm Floyd, ha!
Anyway, I would rather see us add a receiver in free agency. We can agree on that. I just think that is even less likely to happen.

Jake would have plenty of time to get rid of the ball
behind the current offensive line. They are really good at pass protection.

Agreed, Pass protection is not our problem. Run blocking yes. I am fine with OL in second or third round.

YO JIMMY -- You should really make Titans_Firefighters ongoing MCM Community Mock Draft a main page article.
Its currently in the fan post section. If you haven’t seen it, check out the fan post. He’s a MCM Community mock draft, 3 days to vote on each pick, whoever has the most recs get picked by that team. We are doing second pick now. Its a great idea and needs full exposure.

Seriously?
They have the Browns taking 2 WRs in the first round. I don’t think I can trust this mock
I agree...this is a bit wacky of a mock. Browns would not take 2 WR's.
Remember Samrw….this is someones creation, not the Browns Front office. Obviously this mock needs some fine tuning.

The Browns have zero good receivers
Why wouldn’t they take 2?

Because they have glaring holes thorughout their roster.
Why would they do that twice?
good point! now i am back where i started, 2 WRs in first round is crazy talk.
I actually think the Browns may trade up to the two spot to make sure to grab RG3.
and they’d trade away their 22nd pick to the Rams too.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
You’re turning into a wide receiver whore…. I could see it happening, but I don’t think it will. They need a #1, Little will mature over the off-season and cribbs will be his same old, not awesome receiver self. I really expect them to take Richardson with Hillis on his way out.

Michael Floyd
It is Michael Floyd though, not Malcolm Floyd. Honest mistake, as a huge ND fan though I can’t let it go unnoticed. I watched him all 4 seasons at ND and all bias thrown away I think this would be a solid pick for the Titans. There are many other needs on the team that should come ahead of WR but if the front office wants another weapon for Jake then Floyd would be a great selection. He reminds me of Brandon Marshall a ton in the way he plays. Behavior was a problem last off-season but I would like to hope that’s all in the past.
Didnt Munchak already come out and say we were going defence in round 1
I watch the Music City Miracle every time I visit MCM just because I can

Jimmy is so obsessed with us drafting a WR
that he has us drafting one after he was lredy drafted by the Jags in his mock draft!
TOUCHDOWN...GUESS WHO...KENNY BRITT!
Trent Richardson not going in the first would really surprise me
Taking Floyd wouldn’t seem to fit with the Titans’ emphasis on character issues. Sure, they drafted Howard, but he was a 7th round pick. The #20 pick is a different deal.
If that’s the board at #20, my guess is Brockers is the pick.
Man it would be hilarious to see Roger Goodell walk up to the podium and say with the 20th pick the titans select (insert name here).... Wait a minute he's already been taken
I watch the Music City Miracle every time I visit MCM just because I can
So obviously I screwed that one up
Changed the pick above…sorry about that…however…it blows my mind that people think wide receiver is a luxury pick. Did you watch this team play last year? The receivers were terrible. They are dooming Locker for failure if they run him out there with this group. I don’t understand how people don’t see that.
Also, Mike Munchak has a very long track record of finding talented interior offensive lineman without wasting a first round pick on them. I know this group isn’t good, but look at all of the centers and guards who have played here and then gone on to get big money elsewhere. Munchak can find those guys. There is no reason to use a first round pick on them.

I like the WR 1st round pick but I'm not to high on kids out of ND.
Wright or Jeffery are better in my opinion.

Hey Jimmy, I thought the whole point behind your post was that we drafted Michael Floyd...
.. but then you changed it and gave us Merciless, (who I like), but I thought the point of your article was that we got Floyd.

I would rec this over and over if I could.
The Force is with you, young SkyLocker, but you are not a Jedi... yet!
I understand taking a WR
I just dont think it is the best option unless he is the BPA…Our wide receivers were inconsistent outside of Nate but still Damian and Cook had good seasons and with the return of Britt those two will become third and fourth receiver. Can it be a better group? of course…but there are areas on the team that have to improve a lot more
TOUCHDOWN...GUESS WHO...KENNY BRITT!
This
This is my point. Bigger needs to fill. I also feel like this is a pretty deep receiver class, compared to DE, S, LB

I agree, for the most part.
But if we draft a 3rd or 4th round lineman, and he doesn’t step in and fix all our problems right away, I don’t want to hear any more complaining about the offensive line not being able to run block from folks that don’t want a lineman in the first round.
I’m all for a great wide receiver, and I understand that the passing game is probably the most important thing, but if it’s not important to draft a close-to-sure-thing lineman, then I don’t want to hear about how they’re crippling the team all season again.
"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

Sorry to say Jimmy, but there is no way Trent Richardson is not falling out of first round.
He is one of those stellar once in a while RBs, such as LT or Adrian Peterson. I know that the league is moving towards a passing league, but there is no way that a team will not draft a talent like his, especially the RB needy teams such as the Bengals, Browns (2nd pick), Packers, Patriots etc.
Heck, I can see a team that already has an established RB to draft Richardson, since teams are also moving to the 2 man backfield. In fact, I would rather have the Titans draft Richardson instead of Floyd, cause I can see Richardson being productive with a below average o-lineman, unlike CJ, who needs holes to open up for him.
However, I do gotta agree with you. I was one of those people that was not on board with drafting a WR in this years draft. But after a little thinking, I think that surrounding Jake Locker with talented guys would be the best thing for us.
One last point. I have reiterated this a few times, but if we do want to go towards the direction of WR and surrounding Locker with weapons, I HOPE TO GOD that we draft it will be in the first round, or 2nd if someone solid falls. I am sick and tired of drafting mid round WRs who need time to develop and have huge consistency problems.
There is no way Richardson falls out to of the top 25
much less the first round.

decastro's a little high on the board
could see him down near our pick… other than that this makes much more sense than In$ider’s bullshit draft column
