Packers Free Agency: C Scott Wells Likely On His Way Out

5

Would Scott Wells be a viable option for the Titans? Scott Wells has started at center for the Green Bay Packers since the 2005 season, but the 2011 NFL season might have been his last in green and gold. The 31-year old center and the Packers are headed for what seems like a nasty divorce, according to a report by Bob McGinn of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In so many words, Wells is being told by the Green Bay Packers that he has overvalued himself as an undersized, 31-year-old center no matter how well he has played for them. Wells basically is telling the team, "Watch what happens." Wells was originally a seventh-round pick of the Packers and was cut in his first training camp. Wells has battled his way onto the roster and into the starting lineup, making his first Pro Bowl last season.
